Our Story

Speak3's journey to inspire began at the public housing community of Kwai Shing Estate. There, Dr. Anna Chang met a group of hardworking parents who value English education for the next generation but lacked the resources to make it happen.

Having identified that English speaking was the weakest link in their children's daytime education, Dr. Anna Chang organised a series of personalised English speaking lessons designed to boost their confidence of speaking freely. It was a resounding success, opening up opportunities for children of the Kwai Shing community.

The organisation would then evolve into Speak3, and since 2013 our one-on-one speaking courses and school activities have served hundreds of school children. Today, Dr Anna Chang and her team still stand by their commitment to quality English education established since their grassroots beginning, and are looking to benefit more young English learners in Hong Kong.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is “Practice (a lot) makes perfect.” At Speak3, we believe that consistent practice is the key to achieving strength and success. Just as deep roots withstand the strongest winds, regular practice is your ticket to success.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our education. Our focus is always on our students, rigorously monitoring their performance to ensure we provide the most relevant and appropriate teaching for their level of ability. By offering engaging, relevant content and showing a genuine interest in each student’s personal progress, we pave the way for their future in an increasingly globalized world.

At Speak3, we also believe in fostering a love for learning. We strive to create an environment where students are encouraged to explore their interests and develop a passion for knowledge. By nurturing curiosity and a lifelong love of learning, we help our students not only achieve their academic goals but also become enthusiastic, self-motivated learners.

Message from our founder

As the founder of Speak3, I firmly believe that positive praise and encouragement can go a long way towards unlocking a child’s hidden potential. This is not only in terms of academia but in terms of developing confidence, self-belief and self-esteem as well.

My discovery of the power of positive feedback was a very personal one. When I was at school, I used to be at the bottom of my class, scoring very poorly in exams. Being considered ‘no good’ by the members of staff had a severe impact on my self-esteem and happiness as a child. Read more...

My child has tried taking English classes outside, but he found the teacher difficult to understand, which made him less willing to speak and listen in class. Then, Ambrose began taking online English lessons with iSpeakPerfect when he was in K3. At first, he struggled to read and understand what the teacher was saying during the lessons. However, his progress was so rapid that by the time he reached fourth grade, he had the confidence to participate in various English activities at school. He was recently appointed as the English ambassador for Hong Kong King's College Old Boys' Association and also participated in the school's English drama, representing the school in competitions abroad.

The one-to-one online course provided Ambrose with more opportunities to communicate with his teachers. The teachers were able to address his questions in real-time, which was like having a private tutoring class. In addition to reading, Ambrose's speaking and listening skills improved significantly through his interactions with the teachers, who had different accents from various nationalities. This experience has helped him communicate more effectively with his teachers at school.
